Firefox 3.6 Beta 2 Is Now Avaible For Download

Windows/Mac/Linux: Less than two weeks after they released the first beta, Mozilla is back with Firefox 3.6 beta 2. This release includes over 190 bug fixes from beta 1, in addition to the already existing performance boosts and support for one-click themes.

3.6b2

You can grab the latest straight from the Firefox beta page; if you’re already using 3.6 beta 1, those 190+ bug fixes seem like they’d be well worth the update.

Again, this is a beta release, so only upgrade if you’re an early adopter willing to deal with some potential bugs. That said, if you’ve been using 3.6 over the last week or so, let’s hear how you’ve liked it so far in the comments.

Web Browsers Video Comparison

Every medium or advanced user has asked himself this question more than once: “which is the best web browser to use?”

browsers-comparison_ffx

This morning I was watching videos on YouTube, when I ran into this one by Sydus93, a young American geek who posts video tutorials online.

This particular video, even if a bit dated, shows you in simple words all the differences between all the major web browsers around: Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Internet Explorer and Apple’s Safari.

Chrome’s Best News Site: Google Chrome Fans

Google’s web browser, one and maybe the only alternative to Firefox, Chrome, has been out for a while now and many have been the reactions to this: people will bet it’ll be the best browser ever developed, others believe it will never overcome Firefox…

Personally I don’t know what will happen as newer versions are released, or how this “battle”, if it how we can define it, will end.

What I do know, is that Chrome is spreading rapidly and the number people who are falling in love with it is increasing everyday. That’s why I decided to look for a news site that will give you as much information as possible regarding Google’s Firefox counterpart.

Private Mode For Firefox

As we have seen with the new Google’s Browser, which is called Chrome, a new interesting feature has come out of the box in the browsing world, and lately it has been integrated in Firefox as well, starting from version 3.1

privatemode_ffx

It is called “Private Browsing mode, where all user activity traces including history, cache, download history, saved passwords, searches, cookies, and others, are removed as soon as the user returns to normal browsing mode”, as Percy Cabello for Mozilla Links says in the latest article.

Daily Mozilla News In Digg-Like Style: FoxieWire

This morning I received an interesting email, pointing to a website which reminded me of Digg, the popular sharing site which lets you vote for news you like, but completely about Mozilla and Firefox.

I liked it so much that I decided to integrate the latest updates in the right sidebar, and to include a button in my posts that lets automatically post articles to it.

FoxieWire is a website completely dedicated to Firefox, in which people can post news, reviews, add-ons, and everything concerning Mozilla Firefox from other blogs and sites.

With a Digg-like interface, users can then vote for posts, which can increase their ranking place and visibility.

Firefox 3 Beta 4 Review And Mozilla Links

Today I just came back from school, and in my RSS reader everyone was talking about the new Firefox 3 Beta 4.

ffx-mozillalinks.jpg

I personally don’t like beta versions: sure it’s cool to have something before the official release date, but you know it is not as the final product. I have had an experience with Windows Vista RC1, for example, so I was one of lucky guys to have it…But was was the real advantage? None, as many functions were still being tested and not at their best.

While I was reading articles about Firefox 3 Beta 4, I came by a great website that I really didn’t know of, called Mozilla Links.

Firefox Spoofing Informations In The Basic Authentication Dialog Box

Some days ago, I went through a blog called Aviv Raff On.NET, run by Aviv Raff, and it had a really interesting post about a Firefox 2.0 vulnerability: whenever an authentication dialog box shows asking for a user name and password in order to access a web-site, there can be two possible attacks that you might be running into.
